TESTIMONIALS

What Our Patients Say

Real stories from real people who found healing

"I've experienced a 50% decrease in chronic migraines since receiving acupuncture treatments from Christina and now my recent hot flashes have almost disappeared completely thanks to the herbal remedy she developed for me. The customer service is outstanding!"

Jennifer P.

Santa Rosa, CA

Verified Patient

"Thrive Acupuncture is AMAZING!! They take the time to find out what's going on and why I'm there. I had an old injury from years ago that was flaring up. Christina determined I needed 3-4 sessions and sure enough, all the pain was gone! Please go out of your way to see her — they are miracle workers!"

Johann S.

Santa Rosa, CA

Verified Patient

"I went to see her for muscle tension and aches, and her treatment was quicker and longer-lasting than massage. And this is from someone who was skeptical of acupuncture! Not any longer! I could not recommend her highly enough!"

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about acupuncture

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people are pleasantly surprised. Acupuncture needles are ultra-thin — 25 to 50 times thinner than a hypodermic needle — and the point is smooth, not hollow. Most patients feel little to nothing when needles are inserted. During treatment you may feel warmth, tingling, or a gentle heaviness — signs the needles are working. Many patients fall asleep on the table!

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide variety of conditions including chronic and acute pain (back, neck, joints, sciatica), headaches and migraines, stress, anxiety and depression, allergies and sinusitis, women's health and fertility, digestive issues, fatigue and sleep problems, sports injuries, and immune support. If you're not sure whether acupuncture can help you, contact us for a free consultation.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

It depends on your condition and how long you've had it. Acute issues often resolve in just a few sessions. Chronic conditions typically take more time. Our goal is to get you feeling better fast — first by giving you quick relief, then by addressing the root cause for lasting results. We'll give you a clear treatment plan and timeline after your first visit.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment includes a comprehensive health intake — we discuss your medical history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals. We then perform your first acupuncture treatment based on what we find. Plan for about 60–75 minutes. Wear comfortable, loose clothing. We'll answer all your questions and explain exactly what we're doing throughout the session.

Do you accept insurance?

We bill Worker's Compensation directly. For all other insurance (medical, auto, personal injury), we are out-of-network but provide a detailed SuperBill receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many patients receive full or partial reimbursement. We also accept HSA and FSA cards, cash, check, and all major credit cards.

I've never tried acupuncture — is it right for me?

Many of our best patients came in as skeptics! If you've tried other approaches without lasting relief, or want a natural complement to conventional medicine, acupuncture is worth trying. We offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, learn what to expect, and decide if it's a good fit — with no pressure and no commitment.

What makes Thrive different from other acupuncture clinics?

Both Christina and Megan are California Licensed Acupuncturists with Master's degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine, nationally certified by NCCAOM, and have been in practice since 2007 — they both interned at Yue Yang Hospital in Shanghai. We take a results-driven approach using advanced techniques like the Balance Method and Master Tung Acupuncture, known for patients feeling better on the table from the very first session.

Where are you located and what are your hours?

We're located at 2880 Cleveland Ave, Suite #5 in Santa Rosa — a few blocks north of Coddingtown Shopping Center, with free parking right in front. Acupuncture appointment hours are: Monday 2–7pm, Wednesday 9am–2pm, Thursday 2–7pm, and Friday 9am–2pm. We're available outside these hours by phone and email for questions and scheduling.
