TESTIMONIALS

What Our Patients Say

Real stories from real people who found healing

"I've experienced a 50% decrease in chronic migraines since receiving acupuncture treatments from Christina and now my recent hot flashes have almost disappeared completely thanks to the herbal remedy she developed for me. The customer service is outstanding!"

Jennifer P.

Santa Rosa, CA

Verified Patient

"Thrive Acupuncture is AMAZING!! They take the time to find out what's going on and why I'm there. I had an old injury from years ago that was flaring up. Christina determined I needed 3-4 sessions and sure enough, all the pain was gone! Please go out of your way to see her — they are miracle workers!"

Johann S.

Santa Rosa, CA

Verified Patient

"I went to see her for muscle tension and aches, and her treatment was quicker and longer-lasting than massage. And this is from someone who was skeptical of acupuncture! Not any longer! I could not recommend her highly enough!"

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about acupuncture and our practice

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people are pleasantly surprised how relaxing acupuncture is. Most patients fall asleep or get so relaxed they lose track of time. Acupuncture needles are ultra-thin, about the width of your hair — you can fit 10–15 inside a typical injection needle — and the point is smooth, not hollow. Most patients feel little to nothing when needles are inserted. During treatment you may feel warmth, tingling, or a gentle heaviness — signs the points are working.

What conditions do you treat?

We're a general medicine practice, which means we treat the whole person — not just one symptom or specialty. Here are some of the most common reasons people come to see us: chronic and acute pain, sports injuries (back, neck, joints, muscles, sciatica, headaches, migraines), stress, anxiety and depression, fatigue and sleep problems, burnout and brain fog, allergies and sinusitis, immune support, women's health and hormones, digestive issues, and complex conditions. If you're not sure if acupuncture can help you, contact us and we can answer questions about conditions we frequently treat or schedule a free consultation with an acupuncturist.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

It depends on your condition and how long you've had it. Acute issues often improve in just a few visits, while chronic conditions take more time. Our goal is to help you feel better quickly, then create lasting change by addressing the root cause. You'll receive a clear treatment plan and timeline at your first visit. For chronic conditions, we typically start with treatments twice a week, then space them out as your relief lasts longer. Many patients see steady improvement after about 6 visits, with deeper, lasting results over 8–12 treatments. From there, visits are spaced further apart or scheduled as needed for maintenance.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment includes a comprehensive health intake — we discuss your medical history, current concerns, and most importantly your goals. You'll then receive your first acupuncture treatment based on what we find — many patients feel so relaxed they lose track of time or even fall asleep. Plan for about 80 minutes. Wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows access to your arms (below the elbows) and legs (below the knees). We'll answer all your questions and explain exactly what we're doing throughout the session.

Do you accept insurance?

We are out of network with all insurance plans. We do bill Worker's Compensation directly. For all other insurance (medical, auto, personal injury), we provide a detailed SuperBill receipt you can submit for reimbursement. Many patients receive full or partial reimbursement, depending on their plan. To check your coverage, contact your insurance provider and ask if you have out-of-network acupuncture benefits and if you can submit a superbill for reimbursement. We also accept HSA and FSA cards, cash, check, and all major credit cards.

I've never tried acupuncture — is it right for me?

Many of our best patients came in as skeptics! If you've tried other approaches without lasting relief, or want a natural complement to conventional medicine, acupuncture is worth trying. We offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, learn what to expect, and decide if it's a good fit — with no pressure and no commitment.

What makes Thrive different from other acupuncture clinics?

Christina, Dylan, and Megan are California Licensed Acupuncturists with Master's degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine and advanced training in Asia. We specialize in techniques like the Balance Method and Master Tung Acupuncture — known for fast, noticeable results. Herbal medicine is a core specialty at Thrive, not just an afterthought, with extensive postgraduate training in classical formulas and complex cases. This allows us to precisely tailor and adjust your treatment as your body heals.
